The Blankini is truly a 'Mom and Pop' operation. Lisa and I have been married for 25 years and for many of those years we had the battle of the blankets, where one of us would be hot and one of us would be cold. Then, one April morning, when I woke up cold because Lisa had kicked the blanket off overnight, it occurred to me, 'why did a blanket have to be all one piece?' In a flash, I also came up with the name "Blankini" inspired by a two-piece bikini, since our blanket would actually be split into two dividable sides united at the bottom.
So, the Blankini is a soft, cuddly blanket that is divided down the middle, giving each of you the ability to pull it up, down or over, without disturbing your partner. While the idea seemed very simple, making it a reality took much more effort, as we wanted to be sure we created a blanket that would be cuddly soft and well-made, with the center hems soft yet durable, to hold up to repeated flipping open and flipping closed. We also wanted a toggle and loop at the top that would securely keep the blanket unified as a one piece if desired, and easily opened to give you the flexibility to keep your side pulled up, or flipped open and off you. The design is so unique, it has a patent pending.
We scoured the world to find the perfect blanket material, and a manufacturer that could make the Blankini in a top quality way that would delight our customers. Lisa and I have been using our Blankini for many months, and it’s everything I had imagined it would be. Thanks to the Blankini, we have peace in our (bed) time.
